Why can't I earn a million a year?

Because I can't. That's why.
Because the fashion gods don't want me to have this.

I'm dying a little inside.. it's completely gorgeous. ♥

Image from ideeli.

Also, I have some stuff (from ideeli, surprise..) coming.

2 pairs of shoes - Kenneth Cole "Change of Lace" in tan, a studded flat t-strap sandal, and Melissa "Scarfun" in a lovely pale teal, a rubber wedge with thin straps at the toe and ankle. : ) I might post pictures later, when they arrive, with their outfits.

-----

Also also, I raided my mom's old clothing and found 2 completely adorable short sleeved blouses with shoulder pads that I will be wearing a lot. ♥

AND NO, it was not inspired by Glee. Gosh.

Tri-colored hair? Zomg!! And look at those piercings! So cool looking. I just kind of like this girl. A lot.

http://www.style-arena.jp/en/street/harajuku/1008/w1.html

ADORABLE inspiration! I must say, I do get some happy just from looking at these. They're unconventional, yet stylish and on trend, and usually quite cute. They aren't models, but they're adorable. ♥

Hehe.

The World Today

I'm really happy to be living when I am living. You know?

So many great artists in these times... ridiculed almost more often than admired (tis human nature), they provide a strange escape from our monotonous middle-class lives and give us a chance to shut up and imagine. We live in a time of extraordinary artists, and no one cares about anything but the money, what she wore, who he hooked up with, and what they said about it. It's all hollywood gossip and no one cares about anything anymore except the freakin' money.

I'm beginning to hate money a little bit.. it drives so many people to decay into stupid shoe-licking idiots who only care about some kind of paycheck. Politics, entertainment, it's all poisoned by the love for money.

"Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income. This too is meaningless."

That's from the freakin' Bible. I'm not one to usually agree with everything the Bible says, but this is a wise statement. One is never satisfied with what they have. Ever. At least not permanently.

I recently watched the movie "Idiocracy" and found it to be astonishingly true as I was mulling over the idea of never having children.. it reminded me of how the intelligent people are the ones who are limiting reproduction, and the low-class, stupid, drunken, and food-stamp fed people are the ones who jump like bunnies and have millions of babies. Who grow up to be low-class, stupid, drunken, food-stamp-fed individuals who reproduce with one another until it's an entire colony of them. I know how descriminating I am souding right now, but for some reason, it pisses me off that so many people are throwing away the things that make life enjoyable. Family, friends, a pretty sunset, creating pieces of art, reading a good book...

I also recently saw an advertisement for a "catch up on your reading" app thing from hulu. It's audio books. Are we just going to all be illiterate now? Listening is a good substitute for reading? You may get the same benefits from it (like vocabulary and such), but it's still so strange. Call me old fashioned, but reading is something that can never be replaced.. it's so valuable and carries so much weight in our history. Students these days.. the assigned reading of a book or two is enough to kill someone! It's so depressing to me. I'm still in highschool/comm. college, and I hear people complaining about everything from turning in a simple paper to reading a chapter on time.

And this leads me into a mini rant about education. Or not. I'll save it for another time.

I'll probably go back and edit this in the future. XD
Thanks for reading all the way through. I appreciate it.

Chocolate Music

This is kind of a cool video. Russians are so interesting! And people say Lady Gaga is the only wacko out there..

I am pretty positive this artist doesn't even care about Lady Gaga. : D
I must say, though... the reason Lady Gaga is so famous is because of her demeanor. She's poised, but awkward. Refined, yet creepy. She's an eclectic mix of strangeness and beauty resulting in something we can't really wrap our minds around. She's fascinating.

Want to see some of the latest Gaga pictures?

Nicola Formichetti's blog has some great stuff. He's the stylist for the queen of creeps (in a good way).

Craving more awesome Russian music?
Consider the following...

T.a.T.u.
- Formed by two really adorable girls who have been active since the early 2000's but have now broken up as of.. last year?
- Must listen to: All the Things She Said
- Extra: they're not actually lesbians.

KAMON!!!
- Two beauty-and-makeup obsessed sisters who make amazingly gorgeous and weird music videos.
- Must listen to: Brunette
- Extra: their last name is COSMOS! How cool is that? : D

Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta with Raspberries and Mint

Panna Cotta! : ) I'd say that this simple and absolutely Italian dish is wonderful for the summer. Pretty much perfect for those warm breezy days...

Cold and creamy with a hint of vanilla, a dash of lightly sweetened raspberries, and a sprig of refreshing mint.

The totaly calorie count? Less than 150 calories! My mother is an expert on making delicious but low calorie and low fat dishes. Look forward to more desserts and even a few entrees and snack foods from the master "make it thin" chef. : )

I also just wanted to take pictures of it because it was so pretty. So there you go.

It was as delicious as it looks.

Simple Simple Architecture

This is absolutely gorgeous. Aluminum coils ftw.

The same group/artist did some wonderful and strange houses, too.. I'd love to live in a house like this- so fresh and interesting.

So much room for inspiration! I'd definitely keep some of the walls white, but would also use stuff like wall decals and such along with brightly colored walls in pomegranite or peach, citrine, or pale blue. Mmmm I think I want this house. ♥>

Jimni Cricket!

Soooo my lovelies, I did a shoot with the DJ Jimni Cricket! She's spun for tons of shows around the Seattle area and has also done many dances for Sakuracon and the like. : ) She's super energetic and fun! I'll be adding more photos to the set, but for now, here are the ones I have on FB.

Feel free to tell me what you think of it in the comments.

Also, I went to a party thing last night and met a bunch of cool people. : D

Musings 1

So I'm also kind of an obsessive person when it comes to thinking about the universe.. I'll be spouting random musings from time to time. Enjoy my cynical-and-not-really-organized thoughts.

----

Why must we grow? Why must we care about things? Why must everything we do have a purpose? Life is like calves lining up to go into a slaughterhouse- lining up to get snuffed out, one by one, until our generation is gone. Lining up to reach our bitter ends with a mere instant of a life behind us out of infinity.

It may be years before the rest of the human race realizes this and finally wakes up to see that life maybe isn’t about death or the journey to it.. but some may argue that that is our one and only purpose. Others would say it’s to live for God.. but who is God? Isn’t he just a being we pin our hopes and dreams on to and cling to when we don’t know what to do? The one we don’t blame for bad things? The one people kill in the name of? He is exactly that. And he is not a he, he is nothing. He doesn’t exist in this reality- not in a way we could understand. His only purpose is to be our bulletin board for our fears. A telephone pole for our “Lost Soul: Call If Found” posters. A sign with balloons screaming for the extra baggage to be taken away for good. He’s that one thing that is for pure use, nothing more.

If God weren’t a he, he would be an it. This it would be the it of all its.. the one that sums up the entire human race, the entire population of planets, solar systems, galaxies, and universes in our reality and the ones beyond. The collective consciousness of our race.. it reminds me of a time when the 2000’s were the future.. when alien races would investigate the human race and we could get so flustered and embarrassed by our lack of knowledge of the outer world that we would immediately waste our largest ammunitive powers on anything that doesn’t walk, talk, or look like a person.

It is this fear that we so readily run to when faced with the unknown.. call it evolution, call it instinct- I don’t care what label is placed upon the irrational. The unknown shouldn’t be feared but relished… the longer we live, the less is the unknown, but also the more is unknown. As I have said many times (and so has become my mantra), Thinking is the bane to understanding. The more we muse and maroon over romantic ideas of other worlds and the above powers, the less we actually know for certain about this tiny world of ours. And yet, in the infancy of knowledge, now called more developed, has deteriorated. In the ancient times, when people knew what they knew and saw what they saw understood more about the world than we do in present day times. Things were simpler, and therefore easier to question, easier to understand.. with all this jumble of statistics and results we call Science, our world has begun to shift into a time of complications. Nothing but complications and questions to prior beliefs.. its aggravating to think that people think they know everything there is to know. Even if we do have the ways of measuring how old a rock is, how does that prove how long the universe has or has not existed? What do we have as a base of this? What do we have it to compare to? What would it matter anyway? I’m convinced that there is no way to fully understand the complexity and vastness of this universe with our capabilities. We are a limited race mentally, physically, socially, and in mostly every other way a race could be limited, and yet we strive to understand what we cannot. We think of the world as being a conquerable article. Is it?

Turquoise Mascara

I know I'm not supposed to post the same day twice, but I can't resist! I decided to dig through my makeup today and found my turquoise mascara again. This look is clean but surprising and kinda cool. : ) Keep the rest of the face simple- I used face illuminator from Benefit (HighBeam) on the nose and cheeks and some lip gloss from Bobbi Brown.

SKYLINE on facebook.

I did this shoot a couple days ago but haven't posted about it on the blog yet. : ) Enjoy!

Model is Liz, wardrobe is a combo between 3 people's closets. I'm still getting used to knowing what the settings do to the camera.. and I've rediscovered the joy of raw file editing. SO much easier! You can get great results without much graininess or weird color balance. If your camera has the option to save raw files as well as jpegs, USE THE RAWS. Raw files are generally labeled as .cr2 etc. I THINK you have to have a plugin to make it work. You can find out more here.

♥ Revlon ColorStay 12-hour Eyeshadow in Sterling Rose
♥ Maybelline LashStilletto in Soft Black
♥ Benefit non-Fiction Liquid Foundation in Volume 1

The Beginning

This is me, so you have a visualization of who's writing this.

Has anyone noticed how the birds chirp? How the sun warms the earth? How the grass waves gently in the breeze? This world is so interesting- from people to plants, this world is filled with complex little networks of emotion and movement that one can begin to see when everything else fits together perfectly. I think this is called something like enlightenment. I've begun to see the world in a different way the past few years and have truly realized exactly what I want to do with my life. Kind of.

I've been obsessed with fashion for at least 3 years now and go shopping at online sales and outlet malls whenever I get the chance because I'm hellishly poor. I always spend my money as soon as I get it and never get to save to buy anything. xD I'm sure some people have been there before. I guess I'm starting this blog as a place to put down all my inspirations and such when it comes to life, art, and particularly, fashion.

Starting off, I'm going to write a bit about ME. Yes, ME.

I'm 17 years young, want to be a psych major if I don't end up being an awesome amazing famous photographer by the time I graduate from my community college, and love cats, fashion, philosophy, and other things that hipsters like. Mod furniture, shopping, music... yeah. Kinda cliche, but I don't care.

I'm not exactly special, but I'm good at a lot of things. I play the harp, I write stories (rarely), I draw half-naked women, I photograph pretty people, I play with makeup, I spend way too much time on the internet... yeah. You'll find out more once I write more, I guess. :D

OKAY. People like pictures when they read blogs, so here you go.
I drew this. See? Half naked woman. :D Awesomesauce.
